Homework Last MONDAY I SENT HOME A VACATION PACKET.PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD BRING THEM BACK.ALL HOMEWORK IS RECORDED. Every night you will be practicing with the laminated names and ABC, Number templates I provided in beginning of the year.
In addition, read a story with your child every night. While reading talk about the title, author, illustrator, A sentence starts with a capital and we read from left to right. We always read the left page first and then the right page. Look at the pictures talk about how the pictures help tell a story. Discuss punctuation such as a period, exclamation point and question mark throughout the story. After the story discuss the characters, and what the story was about.
Look at signs while driving and discuss the shapes and what the mean. Discuss beginning sounds of different objects, For example Ball-makes the "b" sound.

Letter Identification Practice all upper and lowercase letters and letter sounds.
Look all around you in your journies throughout the day-Identify shapes, letters, signs, objects, logos, skim the newspaper for letters and shapes Look at colors all around us and identify the colors

In kindergarten chronic lateness after 9:15 or absences will become truancy and chronic truancy goes to a truancy officer and hearings.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served daily from 8:00-9:00.After 9am you will eat with your child in the cafe and return child to class when they are done. This means if you arrive at 8:55 or after we will provide you with a breakfast and you may enjoy breakfast with your child in the cafe. We need the table cleaned up and breakfast away and done by 9.Please come to the classroom and sign in, you will receive a breakfast to bring with you to the cafetaria.
Illness
If your child is ill, please leave me an email or text or feel free to call the classroom at 203-691-2887. Please remember to get a doctors note so the absence is excused.

Tardiness
You are marked tardy after 9:25. Please try and arrive by 9:15 every day. School starts at 9 am. Morning circle begins at 9:15 promptly and we travel to specials at 9:25. This is very important for the Kindergarten school year as well. We do our calender time , math, counting, abcs, review our day,sing our morning songs, review syllables and rhyming at this time. Please be on time for your childs sake.
